All in all this presented a lot of concern, fear, and worry for where the direction of this country is headed if we do not take a lot more action and a lot more incentive to do something about it.

According to the combined efforts of the National Institute on Drug Abuse and of course the help of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, substance abuse statistics are getting very out of hand in the country. However, studies show that effective inpatient addiction treatment is the best pathway for getting people off of drugs and alcohol. However, studies also show that people rarely are in any way at all willing to seek treatment and usually instead do not want to get help.

Studies show that on average eight out of every ten people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol do not want to get help for their substance abuse battles at any given time. This is very concerning obviously. It shows the huge treatment gab, where only 5% of everyone who is addicted to drugs and alcohol actually gets help any treatment center every year. This is why intervention is so important and is so necessary and needed in addressing people who are not willing to get help for their addictions.  This is why people need to make sure that they do the right thing and get help for addiction with effective treatment as soon as possible.

While it is never good in any way to abuse drugs or alcohol at any age, young people have a tendency to be the most at risk for causing serious damage and to cause irreversible damage because of substance abuse. This is very unfortunate because people are abusing drugs and alcohol and much younger ages now. The Monitoring the Future Survey indicates that if we do not do something soon to sincerely change this problem then there will be 50 million people addicted to drugs and alcohol by the year 2040 instead of the 24 million who are addicted now, and a quarter of 1 million people will be dying from substance abuse every year instead of the 80,000 that die now.
