Steroids Addiction

As the years go by, steroids addiction and abuse in our country gets gradually more and more concerning and difficult for us to have to address, to the point where this really is a full on crisis.

  • According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, currently there are more people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol United States now than there ever has been before. For the statistics on this, there are about 23 million people who are addicted to either drugs or alcohol or a combination of the two. This is the greatest number and the highest per capita that this country has ever seen for substance abuse. Percentage wise, that is about 14% of the entire U.S. population that is over the age of 12. As for how the numbers pan out right now, that is about 10 million people who are addicted to alcohol, 8 million who are addicted to drugs, and 6 million or so for addicted to a combination of drugs and alcohol.
  • When we examine closely the problem of drug and alcohol abuse in our country, one of the problems is that the average attitude of Americans plays a very large role in this problem. This is to say that the attitude of the American people is not that great when it comes to substance abuse. Statistically speaking, this is definitely a very concerning issue. A recent survey shows that 39% of the American population feels as though we are losing ground on the subject of substance abuse and only about 16% feels as though we are making any progress. The rest don’t have an opinion about it. The situation here is that the perspective of how pessimistic we are on average on the subject of substance abuse. If we do not change our attitude about this soon, then the problem certainly will only get worse long before gets any better. It’s going to require dedication and commitment and sheer resolve from all of us to really be able to do something about this problem.
  • Perhaps the most serious and the most concerning of all the problems related to addiction is the factor of the numbers of people who die because of substance abuse of some kind or another. Unfortunately, this is a very real and very prevalent concern for people. The brutal truth of the matter is that a lot of people are unfortunately losing their lives because of a substance abuse problem. This has presented itself is being a very concerning to say the least, and it is something that is not seeming to go down or get any lower here any time soon. As our substance abuse problem gets more difficult and more concerning, people need to start looking at this problem and understanding how it is going to be addressed effectively. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the death toll from drug and alcohol abuse has been gradually climbing with each passing year, and substance abuse is now the third leading cause of preventable death in this country. If you look back to right around the turn of the century it wasn’t even on the list of top causes of preventable death and now it is number three. At this rate, give it another five years and it will be the number one cause of preventable death in the entire nation. Currently, only smoking and obesity kill more people than drug and alcohol abuse does, but the grim fact of the matter is that substance abuse kills anywhere from 80,000 to 120,000 people every year.

Steroids Addiction and Misuse

When people get addicted to steroids, this puts them in a very difficult situation to say the least.  Steroids addiction is a very real thing, and an addiction to steroids is a dangerous habit to take part in.  Steroids are sometimes prescribed legally for legitimate reasons, such as an individual having a testosterone deficiency, but more often than not they are simply taken recreational to boost performance as an athlete or body builder.

One of the key problems with steroids is that they can be and often are addictive.  When people take these drug substances in a manner of recreational consumption, not only do they run the risk of endangering themselves with the countless health problems that go along with substance abuse, but there are countless other problems that they risk coming up from such substance abuse as well.
